ZenBusiness Review 2026: Pricing, Plans & Real Costs
ZenBusiness Starter really does begin at $0 + state fees—but that is only the formation-service price. Pro and Premium are recurring annual plans, registered-agent service has its own renewal economics, and optional website, bookkeeping and compliance services can renew separately. The strongest reason to choose ZenBusiness is convenience: Pro bundles EIN, operating agreement and 1-day provider processing, while Premium layers in first-year registered-agent service and more compliance support.
Is ZenBusiness worth it in 2026?
ZenBusiness is a strong option if you value a guided formation workflow and want several setup tasks bundled together. Starter is $0 + state fees and works when you only need formation. Pro is $199/year and is the most practical bundle for many owners because it adds an EIN, operating agreement, 1-business-day ZenBusiness processing and ongoing compliance features. Premium is $399/year and adds first-year registered-agent service, Advanced Compliance Protection and more tools. The main caution is recurring cost: compare the annual plan renewal and any separate registered-agent, compliance, website or Money Pro renewal before choosing.
ZenBusiness Pricing: Current 2026 Plans
| Plan | Current price | Key current inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 + state fees | Formation filing, name availability search, dashboard/document access, Velo AI, standard provider processing; no EIN, OA or RA in base plan |
| Pro | $199 + state fees renews $199/year | Starter + 1-day provider processing, operating agreement, EIN, Worry-Free Compliance Essential, document templates, logo builder |
| Premium | $399 + state fees renews $399/year | Pro + first-year registered agent, Worry-Free Compliance Advanced, business document templates, business-advisor consultation and other tools |
Starter: What the $0 Price Does—and Does Not—Mean
Starter's $0 service fee is real. You still pay the state filing fee, and the base package does not include a registered agent, EIN or operating agreement. If you can legally serve as your own registered agent and are comfortable getting your EIN directly from the IRS and using your own operating agreement, Starter can remain a very low-cost formation route.
The old page implied that “most LLCs actually need” to buy ZenBusiness's registered-agent service, EIN and operating agreement. That is too broad. LLCs must satisfy state registered-agent rules, but many owners can legally serve themselves. An EIN is free directly from the IRS when required or desired. And an operating agreement can be prepared independently.
Pro: The Most Coherent Bundle
Pro is currently $199/year + state fees. Its practical value is not just faster filing. It combines an operating agreement, EIN service, Worry-Free Compliance Essential, business document templates, a logo builder and ZenBusiness's fastest 1-business-day provider processing.
That processing clock is the time ZenBusiness says it needs to prepare and submit the filing—not the Secretary of State's approval time. State processing can still range from very fast to several weeks.
Good fit: an owner who wants the core post-formation documents and tax ID handled in the same workflow and values ongoing state-compliance support.
Premium: Useful, but Read the Registered-Agent Renewal Correctly
Premium is currently $399/year + state fees. It includes Pro plus first-year registered-agent service, Worry-Free Compliance Advanced, business document templates, a business-advisor consultation and additional business tools.
The key correction is that registered-agent service is a first-year inclusion. ZenBusiness's current help center says the RA service then renews at $199/year. Do not present Premium as if $399 permanently covers both the plan and registered-agent service forever.
Registered-Agent Pricing
ZenBusiness currently lists $99 for the first year for qualifying standalone registered-agent customers and $199/year at renewal. Starter and Pro do not include RA in the base plan; Premium includes the first year.
Important: registered-agent service is optional if you can legally and reliably serve yourself under your state's rules. Compare the convenience/privacy value against the recurring cost rather than treating commercial RA service as mandatory.
Worry-Free Compliance: What It Actually Covers
ZenBusiness's Worry-Free Compliance service is for state business-compliance tasks, not federal or state income-tax filing. The current standalone tiers are:
| WFC tier | Current price | Core differences |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $99/year | Annual report filing, alerts, compliance calendar, meeting-minutes wizard |
| Essentials | $199/year | Basic + up to 2 amendments/year |
| Advanced | $299/year | Unlimited amendments, one certificate of good standing/year, priority support |
ZenBusiness's current public pricing page says Starter includes an optional free first year of Worry-Free Compliance that renews at $199/year. A current ZenBusiness help-center plan table, however, describes the Starter treatment as “50% off yr 1,” while surrounding help text again describes a free first year. Because the provider's own pages conflict, this page does not hard-code a universal Starter WFC checkout total. Verify the current offer displayed at checkout.
Processing Speed: Provider Time vs State Time
ZenBusiness currently says Starter processing is 7–10 business days, while Pro and Premium receive 1-business-day provider processing. Those are the company's internal preparation/submission times.
The Secretary of State then reviews the filing on its own timeline. ZenBusiness's current help center says state review can range from about one day to eight weeks depending on jurisdiction and backlog. This is why “ZenBusiness forms your LLC in one day” would be misleading.
Velo AI, Dashboard and Support
ZenBusiness currently includes Velo, its in-product AI business assistant, within its formation ecosystem. ZenBusiness says Velo can answer product/support questions and route users to human support when needed. The company also provides a dashboard for documents and status tracking.
The old page called ZenBusiness's dashboard “one of the most polished” and said it reduces first-time-filer anxiety. Those are subjective judgments unless Enjoys-life performs a controlled product test, so the rebuild limits itself to verifiable capabilities rather than presenting aesthetic preference as fact.

ZenBusiness Pros and Tradeoffs
| Strengths | Tradeoffs |
|---|---|
| $0 formation-service entry tier | State filing fee still applies |
| Pro bundles EIN + OA + 1-day provider processing | Pro renews at $199/year |
| Premium includes first-year registered agent | RA renewal is separate at $199/year after first year |
| Velo AI + dashboard/document storage | AI guidance is not legal or tax advice |
| Integrated compliance options | Recurring compliance services can materially increase ongoing cost |
| Weekend customer support hours | State processing time remains outside ZenBusiness's control |
ZenBusiness Plan & Renewal Planner
This replaces the old “true first-year cost calculator,” which assumed everyone needing an EIN/OA should upgrade and treated registered-agent pricing too simplistically.
Starter is the cleanest fit
If you only want ZenBusiness to prepare and submit the formation filing, Starter is $0 + state fees and does not itself renew. Decline optional recurring services you do not want.
Review Starter →ZenBusiness vs Northwest: A Useful Cost Benchmark
Northwest is a relevant alternative when registered-agent cost matters
Northwest is an Enjoys-life affiliate. Its current LLC formation offer is $39 + state fees and includes one year of registered-agent service; RA renews at $125/year. Northwest also includes an operating agreement. ZenBusiness offers a broader formation-and-business-tools ecosystem, while Northwest's formation + RA pricing is currently simpler and lower for owners who specifically want a commercial registered agent.

Official Sources & Verification

This review was rechecked against ZenBusiness's current official pricing and help-center pages in August 2026. First-year promotions are separated from renewals, provider processing is separated from state processing, and subjective interface claims are not presented as verified facts.
